Create Infographics & Slide Decks Using Your Own Sources (NotebookLM New Features)

Google’s NotebookLM has recently released two new features that make turning information into visuals incredibly easy. You can now generate infographics and slide decks with a single click. Best of all, it’s completely free and requires no design skills. If you’re short on time, this tool is for you.

What sets NotebookLM apart from other AI tools is that it’s grounded in the sources you upload—such as PDFs, YouTube videos, or websites and your personal data is not used to train the AI model. This means you can confidently use it without worrying about your content being stored or reused.

1. Create Infographics

One of the newest features is infographic creation. After uploading your sources (up to 50 sources per notebook), you can:

  • Instantly generate an infographic with one click, or
  • Customise it by choosing the language, orientation, level of detail, and adding a prompt to guide the style, colour palette, and focus.

The final result is accurate, visually appealing, and ready to download immediately. While you can’t manually edit the visuals, you can easily regenerate the infographic by refining your prompt.

Note: I’ve noticed spelling errors in some infographics. This is likely because this feature is still in beta. Check your infographics before using them and regenerate them, if needed!

2. Create Slide Decks

NotebookLM also allows you to generate slide decks using the same process. With one click, the tool creates clean, well-structured slides that summarise your content clearly. Slide decks can also be downloaded as PDFs and shared instantly.

Final Thoughts

NotebookLM’s new visual tools make it very easy to transform complex information into clear, engaging visuals without design time. Whether you’re a student, teacher or professional, these features can save hours while improving clarity and engagement.
